| Frequently asked questions (FAQ's)
1. How long will it take to receive my order?
The short answer is within 3-7 days. We ship by Priority and first
class mail (depending on the weight). Usual transit time is 3-4 days
anywhere in the United States. Almost all orders are shipped in 24
hours. If it will take more than 48 hours to ship your order we will
let you know. That is one reason we ask for your email on the check
out form.
2. I called your 800 number and no one was
there. Why?
The size and nature of our business does not make it financially feasible
to be open 24 hours a day. Our time is 2 hours earlier than West
coast Standard Time, thus 5 hours earlier than the East coast, standard
time. In Hawaii, we do not observe daylight savings time, so when
most of the rest of the country switches to daylight savings time, the
time zone differences increases another hour. That is the main
reason a person did not answer the phone. And sometimes the phones
are just busy - but the answering/voice mail should answer, though.
Leave a message and we will return your call as soon as we can.
3. How long have you been in business?
Since 1989. We have had a website since 1996. We added
"Worldwide" to the name when we moved from Santa Clara
California to Kaneohe Hawaii.
4. Do you do telemarketing or send unsolicited
emails?
No! Definitely not! We do no telemarketing
whatsoever. We will email you for only two reasons.
First, if there is some problem with your order. Second, if you have
signed up to receive our newsletter, Early Notice. If you have
signed up for the newsletter, we only send that out one time per month.
5. Can I find your books at the bookstore?
You can special order them from any bookstore that has a copy of
"Books in Print", which is a giant directory of everything
available from just about every publisher. Essentially all book
stores have this. You should pay the same price for the book, never
more. We ship to bookstores as quickly as to an individual
customer. So if you order from a bookstore, you should add 2-3 days
or more to the time given in question 1 above before you get your book.
6. What kind of guarantee do you give?
100% on everything. If you buy something and it does not fill your
needs, send it back. Please send a copy of your receipt and just
write on it - "Return". You will get a quick
refund.
7. Why do you use the U.S. Mail instead of UPS
or FedEx?
The U.S. Mail is much less expensive. And it is just as fast.
Because we are in Hawaii, even FedEx who advertises something about use
them when it absolutely positively needs to be there over night - it isn't
guaranteed from Hawaii and quite often won't make it for 2
days. If we used 2 day service with those services you would
get your book only 1 day sooner (maybe) and the shipping would be
considerably more. Plus, many customers use a post office box
address. The U.S. mail is the only one who will deliver to a post
office box.
8. Can I link to your site?
Yes! If you have a website and your visitors would be interested in
what they can find on our website, it would be a service to them and a
favor to us. To provide a link to our Home page, create your
link button or text at your site and link it to this url:

About us
GLB Worldwide
has been in business since 1989. We started in Santa Clara,
California with the name Good Looks & Brains. At that time we
were mostly a craft company selling t-shirts and so forth. As
publishing became the primary work we did the name was shortened to the
initials - GLB. In 1996 we first went on the www and have been an
active commerce site from the beginning. In 1998, the company
moved to Kaneohe, Hawaii and the name had to be changed because there was
already a GLB registered in the state. So 'worldwide' was
added. The name 21C Publishing was added in early 2002 as an
"imprint" of GLB Worldwide to further distinguish the publishing
part of the business. |
